New releases for PlayStation™, an Android AMA and a Google Easter Egg

It’s finally Friday and we’ve all been looking forward to a well-deserved weekend! But before you head out the door, have a look at this week’s round up of what’s been going on in the worlds of Sony and Android.

The Android Reddit live Ask-Me-Anything event was a real success: important developers, such as Rachad Alao, manager of Android Media framework team, and Dirk Dougherty, developer advocate for Android, discussed a number of concerns and rumours as well as answered questions everyone had. The answers included information about whether the Google Camera’s viewfinder rotation lag will be fixed and if Night Mode will make it to the final version of Nougat. Check out this summary to get all the info you’ve wanted.

On top of that, a new Easter egg was released in the developer preview for Android CatNougat and this time it’s all about cats. Yes, you read that right, you’ll be playing with cats. Long story short, your aim is to catch a cat (or multiple cats if you’re really good at it!). You’ll quickly realise that you need to be very patient…

We’ve also got an exciting new Sony release: the ZD9 series BRAVIA™ 4K HDR , the next generation in television display technology, taking your viewing experience to a whole new level. Mike Fasulo, President and COO of Sony Electronics described the TVs saying, “With expertise in both the creative and the technical aspects of 4K HDR shooting, editing, recording, transmission and display, Sony understands 4K HDR like no other company. The Z series is a direct result of that unique partnership between our engineering and creative teams.”

Next, we’ve got two big stories in the PlayStation™ world this week. Exclusive to PS4, the World of Final Fantasy™ Collector’s Edition is here and it’s great! There are many new features included, such as an exclusive pop-up book, mini figures and soundtrack selection. But remember, this Collector’s Edition is limited so be sure to pre-order so you don’t miss out.

PlayStation 2

Another big release was announced this week; The Rise of the Tomb Raider is launching on PS4 11th October to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Thanks to the Franchise Creative Director Noah Hughes, it’s all based around Croft Manor, what is considered to be Lara’s legacy. Head over to the Playstation blog to get a quick look at what it’s all about and see the new features that will be included!

Well that’s all the time we’ve got today, so have a great weekend and see you next Friday for another weekly round up!
